    calvs wont grow.

Post  Brawn on Tue Mar 02, 2010 10:46 pm

I'm having trouble building my cavls. It seems no matter what I do they wont grow. The rest of me is growing ok. maybe not as much as I would like but there is progress.

As for the calvs, Nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

Normally I would ask for an example of your weekly routine and diet to see where the problem lies but because the rest of you is gaining well I would make an assumption that the problem steams from the manor of which you are training them.
    In other words the intensity.

Could you tell us just how well you hit your calves or better still make an online diary in the log section.

I'm going to do a training log when I get the chance. Thanks for the reply.

I play or should I say played alot of rugby and this helped my calve development. But I have to say the best method I think is to hammer the life out of your calves. there one of those parts that can take it like the forearms so to kick start them try finishing every training session with a few sets of calve raises alternating between standing and seated.

    Calves..

    Post  Romp3L on Mon Mar 08, 2010 11:58 am

Ok guys. U dont seem to get calves. Listen guy.
train your calves seperatly(or with stomach days or shoulder days) and train them first.

Ur diet is the big deal then the training.
Split your calve training into heavy ,then reps and then combination.

You can put in incline treadmill walking with weights after the workouts.
Put in 2-3 workouts in a week
Rep training would be= standing calf raises;20 reps slow then immediately 100reps fast.
Heavy would be 12 reps heavy weights with some1 fighting u on the negatives on seated calves.
And combination would be single legged calve raises with heavy weights and then normal standing calve raises of 100 reps without weights.
Leg press machine doing toe presses ,4 drop sets.
Start off on 200 kg ,then to 160,then to 120 and then 80. 12reps each.
This kind of training even made my calves vascular in a matter of weeks.

If this doesnt give u calve size ,nothing will.
    Good luck buddy
And eat protein FOODS more than u drink PROTEIN shakes.FYI. Evil or Very Mad Carb shakes suck .

Interesting approach to calve training Romp3L. Very intense can I ask where did you come up with that routine? Was it trial and error?

Trail and error. I been training for about 3-4 years. 1 year being regarded as serious.
And I just looked at what i did and what worked and what didnt. Reading alot of training
articles and whatching alot of videos worked too.
I also had a great training partner with crazy legs who did something similar to what i said.

After training like this for about 8-9 months(out of the 4 years) i actually started getn veins on my legs and they became nice and hard.
U guys can try this, its very hardcore and it feels like your calves want to burst. very nice Twisted Evil

after each set of calves hop in place for 30 seconds as fast as you can ( I am not joking ) as if you were skipping this will work but hurts like hell
